We had to push yesterday's session, so let me say something plainly: I am not bothered by this.
I know I can come across as a helicopter parent about this campaign, and that's fair — I am one. But cancellations and schedule conflicts genuinely do not stress me out. Partly because I know every one of you would be at the table if you could. Partly because I'm in this for the long haul, and a few missed sessions don't change the math on a campaign this long. And partly because — and I cannot stress this enough — this is a game. Real life comes first. Always. Don't be afraid to tell me about conflicts. It's cool.
I owe you a small confession: I kind of pulled one over on you.
We're going to need to redo most — probably all — of the character sheets. And truthfully, I knew that going in. Some of you needed to build the sheet before you could find the character, and that's exactly what happened. The sheets you rolled were scaffolding. Now that your backstories are fleshed out, it's time to build the real thing.
There are practical reasons too. The custom subclasses weren't anywhere near production-ready — not in substance and not in how they were formatted on Foundry. They are now. Beyond that, I want every sheet to fully reflect the characters you've created, and in some cases that means tweaking mechanics to match.
To get all of this done, I need to sit down with each of you individually. Here's what we'll cover:
I need you to text me three dates and times that work for your one-on-one. If you want to put two on the same day, that's fine — just leave at least four hours between them.
Our next session is April 18th at 4 PM. After that, there will be another in-person one-shot on either May 9th or May 30th — I'll nail down which one during the one-on-ones.
See you at the table.
